Well, I think you need to measure the surface that you want to tile into a square foot measurement (Area (square footage) = Length X Width). Then hit places like Loews, Home Depot, etc and check price per tile, clearance items, sales, etc. Check craigslist for materials for sale, etc. Good luck!
Doing it yourself would be the cheapest. Otherwise contact contractors in your area for bids.
I would got to a couple tile stores and look in their sale area for something that appeals to you.
