We had this problem..nothing except getting rid of the beetle worms in the soil. We had to capture th armadillos in a cage, call the city they came and took it away. Did that several times.

Find where they are coming from, if you can. Close any burrows with sharp rocks, this will discourage them from digging it again. If their under the ground or on top. Make your yard smelly with some kind of dirt or spray. Set up traps, which your town animal control should do, that's what you pay your taxes for, public service. Call town hall, and ask for the animal control #. Good Luck!

Stay up late and watch for them with a 22 rifle. You already know they're relentless and the bad news is you may have a colony. The other option is to put up fencing that goes 8 or 10 inches under ground.

The only way to get rid of them is to trap them. Get traps from local animal shelters, wet the area down and put some food inside. There is just no other way.
