if they are inside make sure you put your fruits in the fridge as over ripe fruit attracts them. Then spray your house plants. Hope that helps.
Are they fruit flies? Make sure there is no overripe fruit hiding outside of the frig. Also do you store potatoes, yams, etc out where it would be accessible to bugs. We had a fruit fly infestation that was truly terrible and finally discovered the source was a brown paper bag with seed potatoes that was misplaced in the family room for several months. Prior to finding the lost bag, we put out fruit fly traps from the hardware store. Those worked pretty well. Chasing the flies with the vacuum hose was fun but futile.
place bowls of apple cider vinegar covered with saran wrap.poke small holes in the wrap. If you have plants they are fungus gnats.Re-pot the plants in fresh soil and spray the leaves with horticultural oil.
I lay out Bay Leaves here & there. For extra solution, I pour vinegar in small containers such as clean tuna cans, or even deep lids; and set them abut as well. In a few days, I haven't seen any since!
BEST thing I found? those old timey fly strips!!!! we put them everywhere we saw the little buggers, and it worked!!! Also, do keep a container of vinegar, dish soap (a little) in a small dish, cover with saran wrap w/few small holes poked in it), replace every few days. the combo of strip and vinegar does take care of a lot of them. also, check your indoor plants! they will lay eggs in the dirt...I covered the top layer of dirt with sand. seemed to help some too. they were worse than the stink bugs!!!!!
