There's a flapper inside the tank that isn't seating properly. You can go to the local hardware and tell them the symptoms and they can sell you a new flapper and how to replace it.
It sounds like the flapper, the tank seal or the float valve. Just replace all of it -- about $25.
It is probably just the flap. Very simple fix remove the tank lid,remove the rubber flap ( rubber flap at the end of the chain attached to the flush lever) it is easy to remove. Adjust the chain so that it has a little slack when seated
Answer thinside the tank, there is a chain connected the plunger. Adjust the connection so the chain is shorter. If that doesn't work, make it longer. You might also try placing a stone or rock inside the tank. Hope one of
