If it's that bad, no, I'd throw it out and get another. It sounds like it's soaked into the inner part of the mattress and products like Resolve will not get it all out.
The reason the cats go elsewhere is because their box is not clean or they are sick. Get rid of the mattress and take the cat to the vet for a check up and clean the cat box daily.
yeah throw it out!
Look on the internet for NokOut and use until smell is gone
The only thing I found to get rid of cat urine on cloths is straight Lestoil in hot water. Throw it out, and get a mattress pad with your next. bed. Since you have a cat get a plastic cover w/zipper, then put the mattress pad over that. Good Luck!
No it really will not ever come out.
It's a hit or miss, they might not like the smell, and let it be. They also might want their scent on it to show this is their spot. If you decided to try the Lestoil, once it dries, if you have a mattress you can flip, flip it, get a plastic mattress cover, and put a mattress pad over that. Good Luck!
I can't say, my cat peed in her tent, I washed it in the bath tub, with Lestoil and dried it. Now it didn't have her scent, so she peed in it again. My friend made a small blanket for my cat, she must have smelled her cat, and she peed on that. A mattress w/box spring cost a small fortune. I would throw it out, and as I said, get a plastic mattress cover w/zipper, and a mattress pad. EJL
im not sure how you would wash it. There are products for removing the smell of urine, available at Walmart, pet stores, and online. Not sure how effective it would be on a mattress.
