Dwight N on Mar 01, 2014Suggest you check two places. Lowes has equal quality cabinets. But my first stop would be iKEA. They are excellent cabinets. One other thought. Few years ago I thought of remodeling cabinets in our condo. Since I did not need to change the configuration, we just replaced the doors, hardware and counter tops. We did paint the boxes too. Looked like brand new. Good luck.Helpful Reply

Rachel on Mar 01, 2014If you are on a tight budget, see if there's a Habitat for Humanity ReStore in your area. The cabinets you find might need painting, new hardware, etc. but you would be hard pressed to beat their prices. Also, I have noticed people selling entire kitchens' worth of cabinets on Craigslist when they remodel. Might be worth checking out. Good luck and post pictures!Helpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Mar 02, 2014I think that cabinets you buy at HD are fine. I have seen homes with cheap cabinets that were in perfect condition and the same cabinet in a home where they were literally falling off the wall. I think it depends upon how hard you and your family is. I bought my kitchen cabinets at a cabinet warehouse and they were high end but finishes and some fronts and doors were different so I painted them and no one can tell the difference. I have also used HD and Lowe's cabinets and they are perfectly good and they are in my garage where we are not gentle at all on them. If you take care of your cabinets, furniture, or things I believe they will last a long time no matter the cost. Good luck.Helpful Reply

Sonja O on Feb 17, 2015Check out RTA or ready-to-assemble cabinets. There are several sites online. Some of them carry the same cabinets but at different prices so shop around. They are made of all solid plywood and are cheaper if you can assemble them yourself. Home Depot's in stock cabinets are made with particle board.Helpful Reply

Country Design Home on Feb 20, 2015We installed Thomasville cabinets from Home Depot 5 years ago and they still look brand new. The mechanisms are guaranteed for 10 years and the finishes are beautiful and wear incredible well. They were semi-custom, but still very reasonably priced (about 1/2 of those from several local custom kitchen shops)Helpful Reply
