Is it safe to replant peony?
I've heard it might be tricky. Is it true? What is the best way to that? It's this year's plant. No flowers yet.
could be sun burn, or insects.
They could be mealy bugs or aphids. Both very contagious, so keep from other plants . Firstly, check if the soil & roots are contaminated too. It may be too much work but do check at garden store.
Mealy bugs are kind of sticky cotton like, I use many swabs w/ alcohol & spin it to remove them. Bugs are stubborn. Might need to lay plant down on newspaper during process. Cover soil to keep in while you inspect under leaves, between branches where both kinds of bugs like to hide. Afterwards rinse with warmish water w/ drop dish soap. Keep isolated till you're sure infestation is gone. The aphids will turn dark when touched w/ the alcohol, spin swab as there may be several in one spot. Baby plant back to health, don't over water.
I hope this helps. Monica
Spray them down with horticultral oil
