Yes, you can replace them. To get them inside the cover, just fold the foam in half, or roll it in a cylinder shape (depending on the size of the opening in the cover) and stuff through the opening in the cover. Then hold the cover and one end of the foam that is inside the cover and unfold the foam and move each corner of the foam into the corners of the cover. I may take several attempts to get it straightened out inside, but it works. Then just zip and you are fine.
If you can make the covers, I can tell you how to get the cushions inside. Put your cushions in a garbage bag and gather up the opening and use a vacuum to suck out the air and compress the foam. Then stick the garbage bag opening side first into the cover and pull out the garbage bag from around the cushion.
Love the vacuum tip!! I bought precut cushions at the craft store and “bunched” the cushion covers up like a sock and placed the foam in. Then I worked the cover up and over which put the corners right in place. I was surprised it worked so easily because I did use thicker foam than the original. Next time I will try the garbage bag/vacuum trick!
