Make a 'stumpery'. Use the most interesting pieces - group them in different places around the garden and plant around and between them.

To get rid of stumps, drill 1" blade drills into the stumps and pour in Epsom salts. It will kill the stump and make it easier to remove in a few weeks or so, depending on your winter weather/ fall weather coming up.

You can hire a person to grind down the stump or rent a stump grinder yourself. Tree roots generally keep growing long after the tree is gone, but you can drill holes in the stump and use a chemical stump remover that helps the stump begin to rot.

Thanks for answering. The roots are my biggest concern. These are fat and long roots and a million little sprigs have sprouted up out of the root. I need to keep area as clean as possible so snakes will not have a place to hide. Any other suggestion for the roots...
