Did you want it tailored like that or could you just sew a gathered cover for it? You could put elastic at that second seam for stability. That way you could easily remove to wash.

I had one almost like yours I bought leather material I covered mine using a staple gun
How about making a slipcover for it so you could remove it and wash it as needed!?
