How can I replace wicker with wood for a chair seat?
Loving the stools! We have more squarish seats in our kitchen chairs, they have like wicker in bottom now but needs replacing, any ideas for a cheap wood hack?
I did this for my office chair. It was a hideous orange color, but I ordered stretch faux suede material from surefit.net and covered the top with a custom fit. (Turn fabric inside out, fit to top area and pin. Remove and sew pinned area except for the bottom. Fit to top and hand sew bottom.) For the seat, I just covered and used upholstery thread to sew the bottom (no one sees that area).

remove the existing fabric from the chair very carefully and use this as a pattern to cut the chosen fabric. Staple onto the chair.
