What to put in this huge mason jar?
I have a HUGE mason jar. I would like some ideas on what to put in it for decorations, other than flowers.
This is totally a guess but:
I think that sat with the glass nub in a stand and held lamp oil. I think the wick assembly and globe holder screwed into the threads in the metal part. So I believe you have part of an old oil lamp.

Cake top
I think it is part of an old oil lamp. Fancy though
My vote is old light fixture. What are you going to do with it is my question? 🤔
Definitely old hanging light fixture.
Oil lantern ... the glass knob would have fit into the pedestal in a slot and a half turn, then the metal part is on top with a burner screwed into it and the wick... http://www.oillampparts.com/oil-lamp-burner-2bright.html and the chimney fits on top... http://www.oillampparts.com/crimp-top-chimney.html
hard part will be to find a pedestal that will fit and hold the font stable. I would check with some local antique shops..... or a real heavy wide footed crystal candle stick and epoxy the font glass nob into it
