How to hide cables?

We have a wall mounted flat screen Smart TV with cable in our bedroom. What is the best way to hide the cables and small Direct TV cable box.

Place a price of furniture under it that will hide them.
How "smart" are the tv and cable box? If you have a wifi network you may be able to join them both to the network and only need a power cord going to the tv. Just cover the one cable. If you aren't tech savvy, your cable provider can tell you what is possible and set it up for you.
How about a tall jewelry armoire in combo with a plant or statue of some sort? The tuner box could sit on top of the armoire and maybe some of the drawers could hold CDs.
