When to trim back crepe myrtle trees?

    Trim dead branches out in the fall, when you can see which branches are living. If the crepe myrtle is getting very tall or almost out of control, cut the tops back a foot or two below their optimal height. They will fill out better in the spring, without all the extra growth to feed. In the spring, start shaping the crepe myrtle . If you want them even shorter, cut back then, as soon as you see where the lowest leafing branches are. Best wishes 😇

    hi i keep cutting the C M back to almost ground level but it keeps growing up every few months, so i get several blooms and it like 25+ years old
