any thing less than 50 degree or so I wouldn't paint....tried but it flaked in a few months.
I think it will depend on the type and brand of paint you are going to use. Every paint can comes with instructions regarding optimal temperature as well as other information.

If you can stand the door being open for 8 hours, I would say it is not too cold, but remember to Undercoat and then Topcoat with Gloss Paint.
i agree, 50 degrees and less is too cold it wont dry properly- cant wait to see how it comes out!
