Douglas Hunt on Mar 03, 2014Plants and running dogs are incompatible. Dedicate a dog run and fill it with mulch or artificial turf, and plant outside that area.Helpful Reply

Z on Mar 03, 2014I agree with Douglas. There's no way around it. I really like his idea of artificial turf. I was trying to think of something that would look nice and still be soft on their feet.Helpful Reply

CynK on Mar 04, 2014Totally agree with Douglas. Dogs will just run over any plants. I would hard scape and area for them to run in. It can be washed down after potty breaks and cleaned easily. Soft rounded pea gravel is best. How about fencing in an area for them to run that is not landscaped. Dogs don't need a ton of room to enjoy themselves. 15x20 is more than sufficient.Helpful Reply
