Soapy water
There is a product called bacillus thuringiensis that is organicorganic not chemical that kills caterpillars. You can dust your plants with it and eat the vegetables the same dayday, after washing of course.
Mint and marigolds are natural bug repellent
Sevin dust works pretty decent enough for me and I barely dust it. A little goes a long way! Also, I'd try the cup of beer in the ground buried up to its lip . The slugs dive in and I do believe caterpillars, a few at least, drowned themselves as well.
lf you do the soapy water concoctions please test a small patch first before spraying your entire garden. I read a blog where a ton of readers made this soapy recipe and it killed all of their plants. It burnt em up. Scorched them. Lol...it was kind of funny and kind of sad to read because they were pissed commenting ...I was happy I read the comments and didn't try it. Best of luck.
We use Pyganic. It is an organic contact insecticide that I use in my vegetable greenhouse. Takes down bugs, good and bad ones, and worms of all species.
