You will still have to level the subfloor before you put anything on top of it, just putting a padded filler will still allow the new tile to crack....I would seek a few professional opinions on this before you attempt anything..the wood must be even all throughout or your new tile will end up looking like the old one...
Some level the floor with Quikcrete, some put down a whole new base of plywood or cement board over the subfloor. I would get a pro consult at least to resolve your problem(s) specifically.
.. .Denshield is the product you need, 1/4 " , it gets put down directly onto the plywood, screwed down with 1" coarse sheetrock screws. ...use a dimple bit to screw these down , 25 screws per 4'x4' board of Denshield...5 screws along each edge, then fill in the center with remaining screws. However do not overdo the screws...and they will be countersunk using the dimple bit. Please do not use ' Durarock" ..it cracks and breaks apart. Denshield is also water barrier. As far as " leveling", if your subfloor is relatively level, no worries. The leveling is done with the thinset, when you put the tile down. Hope this helps !
You are very welcome ! I hope this helps, please ask if you have another query in regards to this. :)
