Updating Great-Grandpa's Chair

One of things that delight me is that we have several pieces of furniture and ephemera passed down from our families. I have three of my Great-Grandfather's chairs. I believe he made this one. I updated it with paint and slipcovered the hand-made cushions. They bring on a smile as I remember my sweet Great-Grandfather.

Lisa on Mar 11, 2014I have an old rocking chair that was my grandfather's. Grandpa had replaced the old broken cane seat with a rope seat he braided himself. Then he painted the entire chair a forest green, including the seat. I have fond memories of him rocking on his front porch, watching the world go by. After I inherited the chair, I painted it white. Then blue. And it's due for another changeover soon.
