If you mean a vinyl-clad door, technically yes you can. You may void your warranty if it is still covered though.
I would check with a local paint store for the best paint for the climate in your area.
Keep in mind that if you have a storm door, heat can build up and affect the finish.
Secondly, you should not go much darker than the current colour, since vinyl doesn't take extremes very well.
