What are these worth?

D on Mar 09, 2014These dolls appear to be "vintage" composition (mixture of wood pulp & glue) dolls. Values vary greatly (condition is key). Suggest searching for a "doll club" or "doll doctor" in your area. Usually there will be someone who can repair and evaluate dolls at a local "doll show". Good luck.Helpful Reply

Catherine Smith on Mar 09, 2014Agree with dcee. I do think they are composition dolls. The eyes look like they are made of glass(not sure, it's hard to tell from the picture), but a doll maker should be able to help you find out more about them and what they are worth. I can tell you the body was made from a mold, given the mold lines on the bottom of the feet. I use to make porcelain dolls and that would have to be removed, but it's almost impossible to do that with composition bodies, given their nature.Helpful Reply

Sally Roesner Fuhr on Mar 17, 2014There should be some kind of trademark and/or number at the back of the neck as a clue to its maker. Consult a doll encyclopedia with that as a start.Helpful Reply

Mary C on Mar 25, 2014In my previous post, I did not realize doll # 2's hair is molded. This is the doll like mine and mine, also, has the stuffed body.Helpful Reply
