I would try a magic sponge. I have been able to get ink from a pen off with that sponge.

Looks like a plastic shower curtain...? Have you tried to sponge the hair color away using straight peroxide... it is use in the hair color and may remove it or maybe Oxyclean.. or one of the tub/tile cleaning sprays... if they don't work you are looking at replacing the shower curtain any way.

  • My girlfriend rinses her hair in the kitchen sink with the spray attachment to avoid this issue. I would toss in the washer with baking soda and a handful of epsom salt.

Try a damp sponge with baking soda. if that doesn't work try a damp sponge with Barkeeper's Friend scouring powder. If that doesn't work try a damp sponge with Comet or Ajax.

I'm with Ficher Luce, I'd try Barkeeper's Friend. I use it in the powder form and soft soap spray cleanser. It works wonders for me. Best of luck.

Hair color will not stick to your shower curtain if the curtain is clean. It is the soap/body scum on your curtain that the dye can not slide off of. It clings to it.

Easy fix: blue KABOOM (available at Walmart). Buy the spray aresol can and follow directions.

OR: It could be that your shower curtain is not smooth on the inside. some plastic material is smooth on one side and the other side feels like billions of minuscule bumps.

    Check your curtain.

When I dye my hair in bathroom I always seem to splatter it some where. The best thing to do is have cream rinse right by. As soon as you notice it just put some on it and wipe it as you would a little stain won't take much then use damp rag and wipe off. Works great. If it dried for hours before you noticed I wet it down then I first put some baking soda on it as a thin paste making sure it's on both sides wait 5 minutes and take a small brush to it now apply the cream rinse again it's harder to get off but with a bit of work it comes off.

You might try a rub of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, let it hang out on the stain, then put it in the washer on warm, cold water might cause cracking, it should be gone.

If the hair dye stain has set into the fabric, the stain needs to be washed out. If it is a white shower curtain, it can be washed in bleach (always checked the side tag to make sure it can be washed in chlorine bleach; if not, use non-chlorine bleach). Pour a capful of the bleach directly onto the stain. Allow the bleach to set into the curtain for 10 minutes. Then put the curtain into the washing machine with another capful of bleach. Wash and dry the curtain as usual.
