If your painted tub is peeling either remove and replace it or have a plastic tub and surround installed over it. We had our perfect undamaged tub "professionally painted" (from outdated avocado green to white). WORST DECISION EVER! It peeled. We had it redone. Worse than the first time. The outside bottom along the base is starting to peel. Now we don't even use it ... just dust it periodically.

You're welcome, Danny. Funny (NOT SO) thing, we had unmarred green ceramic tile around our green unmarred porcelain coated cast iron tub. We ended up ripping the walls down to the studs anyway to remove the tiles. We also removed the ceramic floor! What we SHOULD HAVE done is saw the tub in half and replace it with a new cast iron tub. Hindsight truly IS 20/20. Hope you make a better decision than we did!
