I also would remove the fixtures rather than go to all of the work she did to mask. The job will be easier, much easier, and you won't have any jagged lines where the taping wasn't so even. I'd like to see how it looks in a couple of years.
you could paint them... but since they are for a tub... it may not last... and having them re-plated or powder coated might cost more than replacing them
Buy new ones.
