My favorite brand of craft glue is Aleene's. She has a full line and on each bottlle it clearly states what it is to be used for. When I run into this dilemma, I just Google - how to glue ___ to ___. Hope this helps at least a little bit.
Most 'Glues' will tell you on the label -- Elmers for instance -- Elmers Wood Glue, Elmers AllPurpose Craft Glue, Gorilla Waterproof Glue, -- read the labels and follow directions for application

I've googled it before, and I've read all the labels at Michael's, but for example, when I wanted to glue paper to fabric, and wanted it to be sealed and durable, I didn't know which one to use, and it's hard to get specific answers to questions like that. But the thistothat site gives great tips for each glue!!! Awesome! Thank you so much!!! In this case I got:
