it is really best to use the real thing. You just won't get the best result. They have many varieties for specific uses.
The regular, full strength Elmers'....add purified water til thick cream consistency . Please make certain that you have not bought the washable school type of Elmers'
Using the real stuff is better but when in a pinch thin out full strength Elmer's glue.
depends on what you want to do ... ModPodge makes many types - waterproof, shiny, outdoor use, etc. I'd stick with the real thing
