Hi Joye, Peacocks kill snakes. My husband has a friend who lives on several acres mostly wooded. He solved his rattlesnake problem with a peacock.

If they are harmless, they are beneficial, they will eat rodents and bugs. If they are poisonous then it is a good idea to find a way to keep them away from your home. I am one who gets creeped out by the most harmless of snakes, but it is possible to learn to appreciate them for the job they do.
There is a product on the market called "snake away" --we bought some to put around our camp upstate and I haven't seen any since. We bought in 1/2 gallon containers. It's a grandular substance that is kinda tan in color. I can't remember where we got it---but it you google the name you may be able to find it on the web---good luck!!!
