Yes you can , it is entirely up to you, but easier to do........
I painted my entire shower and floor using a two part epoxy paint by Pratt and Lambert over 15 years ago. It was called Palgard. Doubt it they have it now, but Home Depot has epoxy garage paint which may work. It was tricky, had to move fast.
