No, sorry, the color you have is it. That is the reason people spend the money on hardwood floors as they can be refinished.
Hello Adele :) Well, laminate floors are actually not a picture of a design that is pasted to plywood and soated with plastic, and varnish will peel off IF it sticks at all (what with the coating being plastic). I don't think that sanding it lightly will help varnish stick either because IF you sand it just a bit too much you will lose the "picture" under the plastic coating :( All that being said, I DO have this link in my "helpful" folders, and I hope if you decide to try it, that it helps you get the color you want to achieve in your laminate flooring:

Naomie is right. Laminate floors have a special bonded coating to protect them. There is no top material to be sanded without hitting the core. No way it can be stained a different color.
