What is it sticky from? Any idea? A good soak in vinegar and dish soap ought to do it.
Use dry baking soda on a damp cloth.
You can use a paper towel soaked with Goo Gone. Then wash with dish soap and water.
OXY Clean
Depends on what made it gooey. I scrub with baking soda and a plastic scrubber. Many times, if you soak it overnight in Dawn and water covering the item completely, the goo will be soft enough the next morning to rub off with baking soda.
You did not say what kind of a plastic container you had, but Do not use Goo Gone on the inside of any container that will be used for food. Some plastics are quite porous, effecting the odor to linger and be re-emitted when the container is heated up.
