Barns attract flies and there are lots of products available that have been transferred for use for home use. The link might be a good start for you depending on your needs. Choose one that is specifically made for home use as some give off chemicals that might be less than desireable in the house.

Good luck!
I did have a glass insect trap, but it didn't really do the job. (I think the flies were wise to it.) You can make one yourself from a soda or water bottle. Cut off the top of the bottle about a quarter of the way down. Turn it over and put it back inside, so you have a funnel-shaped opening into the bottle, and secure it with glue or duct tape. Punch some holes near the bottom so you can run a string through to hang it up. Pour some sweet liquid - fruit juice, soda, etc. - down into the funnel, then carefully turn the bottle upside down and hang it up. The flies will go up into the funnel and then can't find their way back out. Trash it and make a new one when it gets full.
You can purchase Venus Flytrap plants. They are rather attractive, and the do catch flies. I have used flypaper, but you need to be able to hang it where nobody will walk into it!
