Day Lily move- Any tips?

I’m separating and moving daylilies to replant from Indiana to Colorado in the spring. Can I over winter them in pots of soil in my garage to replant when I arrive in Colorado? Any tips?

Here is a site with some advice about overwintering day lilies in pots: https://garden.org/thread/view/28308/Over-Wintering-in-Pots/

I live in New England and I had someone gift me with day lilies in a plastic garbage bag. Everyone got busy with life and the day lilies were forgotten in the bag, in the garage, all winter!!

Lo and behold, in the spring, guess what was growing out of the bag??? :-)

So, in all honesty, I think you can store them easily in a pot to replant later.
