House no 1 was a slab foundation.....all the duct work was ran thru the attic and then down the walls to the registers. That was in my first 50’s fixer...
Make sure the duct work is in the wall? My husband does HVAC. He said a lot of times they go through the wall because of the slab foundation.
Are the ducts between the floor joists, in walls ... your going to have to expose them to repair them. I would get an HVAC contractor, as you don't want to poison yourself with carbon monoxide or be wasting your heat. Its an investment.
