Fun Halloween Countdown Made From an Old Metal Tray

Halloween is coming up soon and your little ones will have so much fun counting down with this fun upcycle . Grab an old metal tray, a little orange and black paint and count your way to Halloween.
To make this cute (and useful!) Halloween memo board and countdown, start by grabbing a thrifted, reclaimed metal tray.
Give the tray two coats of orange paint. I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Barcelona Orange. Draw on a Jack-O-Lantern face with a pencil and when you have one you like, fill it in using black paint.
To make the stem of the pumpkin, wrap jute rope around some stem cutouts. The jute adds a great rustic touch and looks great.
To make the pumpkin stems, cut four lengths of jute rope (about a foot long each), then soak them in white glue.
As the gluey rope lengths began to dry, wrap them each around something about the size of a finger. Just before the glue is fully dry, pull them off and allow them to finish drying on a piece of wax paper.
The glued jute ends up crunchy and crisp when it's dry and the "vines" look so cute.
To make the countdown to Halloween, add numbers to the bottom rim of the tray and glue a little dried flower (that looks like a pumpkin) onto a magnet.

This is really cute. Possibly could use an orange plastic plate too for a different version of just a pumpkin .
