It could be a fungal disease that you might want to treat with a fungicide
Wow, they say you can grow those in a closet. Check to see if it has a drainage hole, only water when soil feels dry, cut it back to nothing and start fresh. A clay pot is good, try that.
What do the leaves look like just before they fall off? If they turn yellow you may be overwatering or the soil may not be draining properly. Does it sit where it gets cold air from an A/C vent, or hot air when a door opens? Pothos are generally pretty easy to grow, I would take it out of the pot it's in, replace the soil, be sure it's in a pot that isn't too big or too small, and check the location for issues. If it doesn't have much of a root ball try re-rooting it in water. If the rootball appears healthy repot it In an appropriate soil. Good luck.
Re-pot in fresh soil in the next size poor, water only when dry to the touch, check for insects and spray the leaves down with horticultural oil
It could a lack of magnesium replete the soil with a dilution of Epson salt and water.
Answer this Hometalker's question!Agree with other DIY'ers about the soil, stick your finger into the soil...if it is dry add a little water with Liz's idea about Epson salt added to the water...if is wet take it out of the pot
and put into a pot with a drainage hole and fresh soil
