Joanns have foam cornices that you cover with fabric of your choice. They may help with suggestions also.
I used foam board and used a utility knife to cut the long and short pieces. I also added two 2" pieces to the ends to staple it into the wall when I was finished. I laid all the pieces together and glued them. I even taped and clamped the pieces together to hold. Using spray adhesive I covered it all up using scrap material I had left over from covering the window shade. I got the foam board at the Dollar Tree, had the material and spray adhesive.
