Making a Dry Brushed Wood Sign Back

Use this quick video to make your own custom sign back for rusty metal shapes!
Cut boards to length for the size back you want.
Staple (or screw) wood strips on wood back
Add Hanger
Sand
Dry Brush
Time: 10 Minutes Cost: $10 Difficulty: Easy
Gather your boards and strips (lath)
Layout the straps for the back (put glue under the strips)
Staple (or use nails or screws) to attach the straps to the back
Using screws attach hangers. (we used D-ring hangers) you can use sawtooth if you want.
Dry brush the sign back

Materials I used for this project:

  • Reclaimed Fence wood   (salvaged from the side of the street)
  • Wood Strips (lath)   (any Home improvement or hardware store)
  • Staples or screws   (hardware store)
