What is your location and what location are you moving to

Keep 'em cool, keep 'em dry. As for dividing, it could not be easier, just pull them apart. When you replant, pay attention to how deep and make sure the root end goes down.

The information I found says to take a sharp shovel & dig them up, then divide the hostas. I would think that you could put them in a pot with soil to transport them to your new home.

Hostas, ferns and sedum are divided at the root. https://www.wikihow.com/Divide-FernsLillies and bulbs can be divided if there are additional bulbs attached. Those you can break off and spread around in the new planting area.

There's a number of ways to do this. Bulbs are easy: dig up, brush off the dirt and store in a cool, dry place. If you can dig them up after a first frost, great. If not, dig 'em up and let them dry out a bit, removing dirt and dried foliage. Mark them as to what they are unless you like surprises.

You can dig up the hostas, ferns and sedums and put them into pots and store them outside in a cluster near the house or you can store them in pots/plastic grocery bags in the garage over the winter or put them all in a large planter and cover with leaves and let them winter in there inside the garage.

The idea is to dig up enough dirt to protect their roots, keep the plants cool (some people stick plants in old refrigerators) and dry (you don't want to create mold issues).
