Bring to a local laundrymat and use the extra large load washer
Why does it need to be cleaned? This will determine How to should be cleaned. Also, what is it made from and can it be hung outside safely to dry?
you can take it to the laundry mat....the home machines won’t handle it well. Get a front loader and a min of detergent. no fabric Softener it will leave a residu on the feathers. Find at least 3 clean tennis balls these will fluff the down in the conforter, dry the comforter on med heat with the tennis balls.
If your washing machine is too small, use a large siz one at a laundtomato. Be sure to use a gentle soap like Woolite. Dry it in the dryer with new tennis balls or clean sneakers to break up the wads of down.
I have a washing machine with a tub large enough to wash sleeping bags and king size comforters. If you do not, take to a coin laundry and wash there. Check the tag to see exactly how to wash. If "dry clean only" take to the dry cleaners.
My down comforter is washable so I just toss it in the washing machine and fluff with no heat in the dryer and air dry over a few chairs.
If it is marked washable - I take my to the laundry mat , and use the biggest machine. I then take mine home and line dry in the sun. A cleaners wants $50.00 in my town to launder (not dry clean) a king size comforter. About $8.00 in quarters at the laundry.
