homedepot.com has 2' round pine panels. You could just varnish it or do something with photographs and Mod Podge. Clockit has a variety of movements, hands, and clock face numbers. No one will have a clock like yours. If two feet is a small clock I'd like to see what you call a medium clock.
Here's one I found: http://www.hometalk.com/diy/craft/seasonal-decor/earth-day-clock-upcycle-from-cd-dvd-15585791

Another thought... You could glue something personal to you; seashells, pine cones, colored glass beads, small hardware, or Hot Wheels cars onto the face of the clock either instead of or in addition to numerals.
You can probably customize the size on this idea :

2 ft x 2 ft doesn't seem that small to me. I have a clock made from an old LP vinyl record, I have one that is in the shape of an acorn, cut on a jigsaw by a friend of mine, and I have a large farmhouse style clock made from wood that kind of mimics an old pallet (I am sure you can piece some plain wood together to make it look like a pallet). You can by some live/rough edge slices of trees to make a clock from, too.
This is kind of neat! http://www.artofmanliness.com/2014/01/23/how-to-turn-a-book-into-a-handsome-clock/
My husband who has a lot of interests is into clocks right now. I assume you mean the clock case that should be unique and not the works? What are your interests? Sports, antiques, music, etc? What do you like? How gifted are you at making things? What is your taste in interior design? Those are the questions to ask yourself. You could buy something at a junk store and turn it into a clock, you could make something yourself (sky's the limit) Just go out and about and look at everything with this question in mind "could this be turned into a clock?" Good luck!
Thanks for all the ideas, and for klockit.com, that solved one problem for me before i could even get started!
