How do you reupholster the cushions of a typical glider rocker?

I tried to color the fabric and it shrunk and fell all to pieces. I have no pattern to go by. I have nothing but foam rubber for the back, the seat and the arm pads. Help.

  • Make your own pattern from unbleached muslin using the cushions as templates. Make sure you add enough for seam allowance and baste and fit before cutting your chosen fabric.

    I purchased a cushion that goes on a lawn chair (has top and seat ) I used it as was for a while then finally made a slip cover for it. I made ties for each corner to keep it from sliding off. Fits good and is very comfy!!

    Agree with Naomi I've done that before..if there are pieces you can't off of the chair try newspaper for the pattern piece - again allow for seam.
