Goo Gone, WD-40 or even olive oil should work. Then clean your glass with a mixture of vinegar & water plus a drop or two of dishwashing detergent - like Dawn.

Soak the jars under water in the sink, and the labels will come off. The glue, some of it should come off with the label. Then use an SOS pad for the rest.
