Hi Donna. You may need to dig down and bury more fencing. Otherwise you can put another fence up. Putting the dog on lead it another idea.
what i did with mine was buy tent stakes at walmart on sale hammered thm down about every so many feetnow not even my puppies can get out however one of my dogs did figure out how to go over her kennel walls so un less you can prevent a over the wall escape my Elsa is a hussy if he cant get to her shell find a way to get to him. determination
Replace it. If he's digging to go underneath, bury bricks under the fence line. That's my suggestion.
Hi, could you buy inexpensive chicken wire fencing about a few feet tall and attach it along the fence at the bottom with clear zip ties? I would edge 4" or so into the ground along the fence and place the bottom of the chicken wire fence into that. You can secure to the larger fence with zip ties. I put up a garden fence this way so the rabbits won't get in under the fence and it worked. It may not look pretty but it might keep your dog in the yard!
Yu did not say what type of dog, size of weight. This would never hold in a big Labrador like mine. I would put up a regular fence.
I have a wood fence and used cinderblocks. You need to spend the money and sink proper fence posts and install a proper fence. Not cheap, but worth it for the safety of the pets. Never ever chain an animal to a post or fence unattended. If a predator enters the yard the animal has no chance to escape or defend itself. The leash or chain can become tangled and strangle the animal. Too cruel for words.

We had the same problem with our chain link fence. My hubby is in lumber sales so he got 2 x 6 x 12 ft boards. Laid them flat by the fence. He then dug out under the fence and slid the board it. He covered it with dirt and you cant see it. The dogs got a shock when they thought they were gonna go on the lam again...and hit wood! That has been years ago and the boards are still there. Dogs stopped trying.
