From Ho-hum to Humdinger! $5 Chest

I'd gotten this chest at an auction for $5. It was a dark brown and banged up quite a bit. I chose two colors to give it life, both Valspar: Appletini and Crocodile Smile. I painted it last year, and it was a huge improvement, but still... It seemed to be lacking something; it was kind of boring despite the cool colors. Should I decoupage it, should I distress it, should I repaint it, I asked myself. Instead of any of those options, I applied wall decals (you know, easy on-easy off) from Amazon.com to the two doors, and used my Sizzix Vagabond die-cutter to make the birds and vines from Con-tact Chalkboard vinyl on the top drawer. The difference is dramatic. I no longer yawn when I look at it.
