if you have home owners insurance check and see if it will cover the cost of mold remediation. Or renter insurance. Mild likes warm, moist area and some thing to eat. You also need to kill the mold spores. i did some research befor I bought this house...I rented it for a few months...bleach does kill mold, but not the spores. equal parts vinager and water did.
Sorry to tell you this but if water got into your home then it got into the walls. The mold is probably in the walls too. Usually the bottom part of the drywall is cut away and new drywall installed. I hope you have flood insurance.
How bad is the mold? Contact your insurance carrier to see what they cover. If you are not sure what to do, it is best to call in the pros. A proper restoration company will know if the sheetrock needs to be replaced, carpet or floors ripped up and replaced. Even if a place looks clean, mold grows quickly in hidden areas and cause all kinds of health problems. Be safe!
Mold is very hard to get rid of. You have to find out just where it is. If it's the whole room, you need new sheetrock, and this is a job for a contractor. Go online to Home Advisor.com, and find a reputable person to do the job. They give you at least 3 choices to choose from. Call, and have them come out to look exactly what you need done. These people are screened, and they will tell you how long they have been in business. Get a contract, and the amount the job will cost.
Bleachwater is going to be your best bet. Be aware that there is more mold inside of the wall than can be seen walking through the house. If you can't replace all the walls, some people cut off the wall just above the flood line or mold line, and replace that. Best wishes and I'm sorry about your house. 😇💖
thank you all
