You can, but I wouldn't. Too much of an elevation change and creates an awkward transition and tripping hazard.

my sister just put this flooring over her tile floor. Looks exactly like wood and is guaranteed for life. Hers has a beachy look and I just love it. I think you could find it at any flooring store. I've put in Pergo before and it's very easy and can go over just about anything. You would have to make sure your ceramic tile is perfectly level and in most cases that's an impossible outcome for tile. If you have uneven tile it will affect the way the ergo will lay and cause it to buckle.
