Use thin plywood. padding like foam or quilt backing. Bore holes through the wood then use Large matching buttons with strong thread pull the thread through the btton and the backing through the hole you bored. Tie in the back.
Fold all sides under attach to wall. .That is the short version of course you have too measure to be sure you have the holes all equally spaced and styled to make a diamond shape. I hope you get the idea....
