We had a couple large walls to decorate after buying our new house. One of them was over our smallish TV in the LR.
Bare wall, empty canvas, right? That poor clock looks so lonely.
I know hubs and I both wanted a coastal theme to go along with the wicker furniture we bought off Craigslist. My neighbor and I were rummaging when we spied this large textured artwork at a resale shop. I told her I thought hubs would love it but I didn't want to buy it until I was sure. We went back (hubs and I) and yup, he loved it, too. It was only $50! We had found the anchor (no pun intended) picture for our wall.
Hubs had no idea what a gallery wall was. After showing him Pinterest examples he agreed that was the route to go. Over the next few weeks we found a couple more items to add to the wall. Then came the time to figure out how to hang our objects'd'art. I cut out footprints of each of the articles using postal paper. Vases were used to hold the paper down to keep it from curling. We'd tape the footprints to the wall to get the arrangement we wanted. Using these footprints saved a lot of nail holes from being hammered into the wall.
Remember the lonely black clock? I painted the frame white and glued seashells to cover the frame. Hubby loved it. He also loved the blue/white frame I painted and inserted wavy fabric.

These two items, "Relax" and the anchor, were from Walmart and Hobby Lobby, respectively.
We found these three shadow boxes at a resale shop with movable sand and seashells inside. Perfect!
We still needed a couple filler pieces. To keep this wall at a minimum cost I repainted a frame and inserted this wavy fabric. I had the framed picture of the vases/flowers and included that because the mantel is to the left side and we usually have vases and flowers on it. And because I like the eclectic touch.
To complete the gallery and follow the cathedral sloped ceiling we used another item we already had - a small frame with a mirror.
Here's the finished gallery wall. It came together very nicely.
And here's a little broader view.

The gallery flows so well, I would love to see it in person! Beautiful!

Great job but I would switch the two items on the floor.
