Usually good old fashioned comet n a scratch pad cleans it well. Since you havent mentioned any particular stain your trying to remove.
My Mom used to lay paper towels in the bottom of the sink and pour bleach in and let it soak overnight to get stains out.
If rust... rust remover. I saw where they soaked rusty tools in vinegar and water. Equal parts or a little more water. Other stains can usually be bleached or scrubbed off. That magic foam Mr Clean has does a lot of work on most things.
