With a bit of creativity, you can give any room in your home a magical stary feel. It's so easy to do and relatively inexpensive to build. Just make sure you have other light sources in the room or don't need lots of light in the room.
First I wanted to get rid of my boring lampshade! Ugh! I needed a few things to adapt the old to the new idea I had, so I first wandered around Ace Hardware (they have anything you could possibly need for weird projects) I was looking for a disc of some sort to put in place of the lampshade that would hold a grapevine wreath and led lights.
I found this all-purpose crossbar located in the lighting section of Ace Hardware. Place it where the glass lampshade was and screw the little dingleberry back in place.
Next, I got two of these to screw in place of the lightbulbs. these will be where you plug in the led lights, and magically they work off the switch!
Next get 4 chains the same length and hang them from the holes in the all-purpose crossbar.
I just opened up some of the chain links and made S hooks but you can get S hooks if you want.
Next, you want to plug in your led lights and start wrapping down the chain and around your wreath. I use 4 sets of 10 foot LED lights because I wanted as much light as possible.
Next, add your greenery then the flowers.
And you're done! This is the third set I have made in my house. One was a sconce above a set of curtains. Here are the pictures for those below.
With this one, I added some old jewelry I don't wear anymore to hang down from the wreath. It was a cute touch but doesn't photograph very well.
And for this sconce, I just wrapped it all around a curtain rod.
Enjoyed the project?

Lynn Lauderdale on Nov 26, 2017I actually had two sticks, perfect for walking sticks that I had for years. I was going to decorate them as walking sticks and never got around to it. So I cut them into 5 equal lengths and wrapped them with leather to bind them in place. Then I just decorated them the same as the other one. It was SO easy!
